Bermuda grass is a low herb with rhizomes. The culm is thin and tough, and the lower creeping ground spreads very long. Adventitious roots often grow on the nodes. The upright part is 10-30 cm high and 1-1.5 mm in diameter. The culm wall is thick, smooth and hairless, and sometimes slightly flattened on both sides. The leaf sheath is slightly ridged, glabrous or sparsely pilose, and the sheath mouth is often pilose; the leaf tongue is only one round of cilia; the leaf blade is linear, 1-12 cm long and 1-3 mm wide, usually glabrous on both sides. Spikes (2-)3-5(-6) pieces, 2-5(-6) cm long; spikelets gray-green or purple, 2-2.5 mm long, containing only 1 small flower; glume length 1.5-2 Millimeters, the second glume is slightly longer, both with 1 vein, ridged back and membranous margin; lemma boat-shaped, with 3 veins, back obviously ridged, and pilose on the spine; lemma and lemma are nearly equal in length, with 2 veins. The scales are nearly truncated by the upper edge; the anthers are lavender; the ovary is glabrous, and the stigma is purple-red. Caryopsis are long and cylindrical. Chromosomes 2n=36 (Brown, 1950), 40 (Hurcombe, 1947). 30, 36, 40 (Tateoka). Flower and fruit period from May to October.
Turf characteristics
Bermuda grass, a warm-season lawn, with medium, fine and soft leaf texture, moderate density, well-developed root system, extremely rapid growth, outstanding drought and tread resistance, the built lawn is strong and dense, and weeds are difficult to invade.
Lawn grass seed planting method
1. Make sure that the soil for sowing is free of weeds and that the soil should be fertile. If it is not fertile, apply some base fertilizer.
2. Make sure to pour the soil and loosen it, so that the seeding can be carried out after this treatment, otherwise, the seeding cannot be carried out, and the germination rate will be very low.
3. Make sure that the seeds are scattered, so that when germinating and growing, there will not be too much grass in some places.
